"SAA applauds these great rescuers." Was this a rescued? Yes, one of many! When my mom died 4 years ago, I "inherited" her 18 cats, so with my 5 cats, I then had 23. My mom and I both have been supporters of the humane society, mom was on the Rock Co. H.S. board when she was younger. All the cats are spayed and neutered PETS. NO kittens! All were either strays or dumped at or near our home. Now at 74 years old, I am down to 15, all getting up there in age, about 6 to 18 years old. One has diabetes (insulin shots 2x a day) and another one is on thyroid meds. Financially I'm having to draw the line on tests and treatments for the rest unless REALLY necessary. Then this past winter along comes "Buster", a tom cat, un-neutered, battered and bloody. I kept him away from others with a heated bed in my garage when he would come for awhile, now he comes in the patio to sleep, eat and has decided that this is his HOME and he stays pretty close. I have doctored him so many times and he just want to go out and fight some more. He needs to be neutered so he can be just one of the "pets" around here and won't have the need to stray and fight. He is a sweet cat, loves me - the hand that feeds hin! And I can't just turn my back on him even though I say "no more cats". SAA neutered him
